Frequently Asked Questions
Do you post out tickets if I book on line?
No, if you book online then your tickets are sent to the email address that you specified when making the booking. We don’t post tickets.
What’s the maximum age for a Child Ticket?
Children’s tickets are for ages 12 and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult although the adult doesn’t have to skate.
Is it suitable for young children?
Guildford Ice Rink has a special supervised team trained in this area and our rink is suitable for children of about 3 years and upwards. We have a selection of twin blade bobby skates and helmets for small children but suggest you bring your own cycling helmet, gloves and other equipment if you can.
Do you provide skates and what is your largest size?
Skates are provided and included in the price. Our largest size is 14.
Is there an admission fee?
There is no entry fee to The Village and parents and friends can watch the skating for free from outside the barriers.
Is there parking at the venue?
Parking can be found in car parks locally.
What clothing should I wear?
You are advised to wear warm light clothing if possible. It’s quite normal for there to be some surface water on the ice so bring a change of socks just in case and be sure to wear gloves while skating. This is an outdoors ice rink so bring suitable waterproof clothing if rain is forecast.
Do I have to book or can I just turn up?
You can turn up and you will probably get to skate, however if you want to be guaranteed a particular time, particularly on busy days, then we recommend that you book in advance online or by phone.
If I have booked tickets and can’t make it, what happens?
Tickets for Guildford Ice Rink are like cinema tickets, no exchange or refunds, if you cannot make it we suggest that you try and give your tickets to someone else.
Are you insured if I fall and injure myself?
Guildford Ice Rink is a fully insured event. This is an Ice Rink and there is a strong likelihood that you may fall. You skate at your own risk, we cannot be responsible for injuries sustained as a result of ice skating. If you are a novice skater we recommend you bring gloves, a cycling helmet, knee and elbow pads.
Is there food available at the venue?
There are a number of cafes, bars and shops in The Village. See www.guildford.gov.uk/thevillage/shopsandeats for details.
